Turn water off, remove cap and clean the thread up.

Dummy fit the cover plate and mark where you are going to cut the thread.

Remove cover plate and cut thread off with grinder. **Be careful not to mark the wall with the grinder

Use clear silicone to stick the cover plate to the wall. Spin the cover plate as the silicone touches the wall to help prevent it squeezing out the sides. If any does, clean up straight away with a rag and methylated spirits.

Bevel thread using thread trimmer.

Remove the brass shards that are left behind **Very important so that it does not block the vacuum breaker.

The best way is to use a vacuum. If you don’t have a vacuum you can use a paddle pop stick or a small flat blade screwdriver.

Thread tape 5-8 wraps of grey teflon.

Install using level.

Install vacuum breaker **Don’t snap off the little lug until you’ve tested that there is no leaks between the tap and the vacuum breaker when commissioning.

This is the ideal finish between the cover plate and the hose tap.

Also there isn’t any loose threads of tape hanging down. If there is, cut them off.

Polish cover plate with a clean microfibre cloth.
